JOB SPECIFICATION FOR ASSISTANT MANAGER
Cinema assistant managers are responsible for all aspects of the cinema operation including efficient day-to-day control of all cinema activities and promoting effective visitor services, whilst ensuring business objectives are achieved.
TYPICAL ORGANISATIONAL ACTIVITIES
- achieving audience and sales targets
- ensuring audience satisfaction
- advertising, promoting & marketing films locally to ensure optimum profit
- managing promotions within the cinema
- budgeting and stock control
- developing an understanding of the local market, including customer expectations
- preparing reports, statistics and forecasts
- complying with licensing and health and safety regulations
- training and supervising full and part-time staff to work as a team
- organising duty rotas and wage requisitions

QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING REQUIRED
Previous cinema experience, while beneficial, is not required as full training and support will be provided. However, proven retail or lesiure management experience is essential. Graduates of business studies, management, travel/ tourism or recreation/ leisure studies are preferred but not essential.
KEY SKILLS FOR CINEMA MANAGERS
Personal qualities such as good problem solving, organisational, interpersonal and verbal communication skills are important. All candidates must be confident, commercially aware and capable of forming good relationships with a wide range of people. Good business and IT skills are also important. HR experience would also be an advantage.
You must be hands on, and able to manage and motivate a team to provide a professional, high quality and successful cinema experience to all of our customers.
